Dow's Vintage Port 2000 750ml

Founded in 1798, Dow’s is one of the Douro Valley’s historic port houses, renowned for powerful, dry-styled ports with exceptional ageing potential. With a legacy of rigorous vineyard selection, traditional lagares foot-treading and careful ageing in cask, Dow’s produces collector-worthy Vintage, Tawny and Single Quinta ports prized for structure, intensity and longevity.

An opaque blue/purple color (typical of this vintage's top offerings) is followed by a strikingly provocative aromatic display (flowers, licorice, blackberries, and cassis). This firmly-structured, classic, tightly-knit, restrained port exhibits brilliant purity as well as impressive intensity. While not the most dramatic or flamboyant, it is a beautiful, classically structured port that will age gracefully.
